What are The Foundry's Values?

In June of 2020 a group of people from six different area churches gathered for the first time. We were essentially a room of strangers. We didn’t know what The Foundry would look like, we didn’t know how long it would be before it actually launched, we didn’t even know the name for sure. But this is where we started…

“What’s necessary for you to feel like this ministry is a place you can belong and grow?”

We filled the white board with our thoughts then circled back around. And it was pretty amazing how a white board filled with strangers’ thoughts easily and clearly created a list of values for what we now know as The Foundry to follow:

The Foundry strives to be a place where all are Seen & Heard, Known, and Loved.

Seen & Heard
where every voice and story is acknowledged and valued creating an honoring of the image of God in one another by fully welcoming others as they are.

Known
where we will be who God made us to be so that the fullest expression of the Body of Christ is revealed as we share of ourselves courageously to deepen our faith, relationships, and dialogue, and share God’s abundant grace.

Loved
where all are encouraged to be themselves, as they are part of the whole, and challenged to grow in to the fullness of Christ.

All of this, we pray, leads into the vision that The Foundry would be a ministry of young adults creating belonging for one another to share their stories and lives with each other, grow in knowledge and love of God and neighbor, and follow their call to Kingdom work in our community and churches.
